The No Headband Headband Tutorial

Are you ready for the reveal? Well here you all go!
This Headband, I have to give the designing idea to Rose... When I moved to Michigan she was into making bows, she had a little girl on the way and what girl doesn't want to wear a flower in her hair? I know I love wearing flowers. During this time I was getting bitten by the bug to make hair bows and wanted to sell them. At that time it wasn't good for either of us... A month after moving to Michigan, Andrew and I were packing our bags and moving to Utah.
Long story short, Rose and her husband along with the kids moved out here about 8 months after us, and that's when we gave it a shot at selling the headbands, and baby items. Rose shared her secret with me! YAY! I was into sewing at that time and was making tons of little baby items, That's when Sew Stylish Boutique was born. We brain stormed many many hours together on tons of different things. The ends of the headband was one... But, I still can't take the credit for the design behind the No Headband Headband.
We have since "closed" the shop. It was a lot of work and long long nights to keep it up and going.

Now one thing, I HATE wearing HEADBANDS!!! If you can tell I wear glasses, and the glasses and all headbands hit right at the same spot and hurt. I could never wear them together. A headband was never on my head. This headband does not bother me nor my glasses. I love it! I can wear it all day and forget that I have it on, because it is so light weight.
Do you have long hair? I know I used to and I always wanted to wear my hair up in a messy bun. Well this headband can be wrapped around that messing bun and TA DA you have a pretty updo. :)
Just put a bobby pin in place to hold the flower where you like it.

So aren't you all LUCKY!? You get to know the secret too!
That's Rose on the Left and Me on the Right.

Please stop by Rose's blog too, A Rosie Sweet Home, and see how she has made the headband.
This is the most awesomeness Headband ever!

Thanks Rose for your brain storming and sharing the idea with me.
I love that we are now sharing it with everyone else. <3 Heather

Silver Beaded Headband it can also be worn in an updo and a necklace.

Below you will find how to "wear" the headband. This is what we made to send along to our customers when they bought a headband.

Pull the headband open, holding both sides of the wire in your hands half way between the flower and the ends of the wire.

Holding the headband open place the wire over your head like you would place a regular headband. But the wire needs to sit closer to your forehead, so it does not slip off the back of your head.

Slide your hands down to the ends and tuck the ends (headband) under your hair at the nape of your neck.

Play around with the position of the headband until you find what is comfortable for you. Hide the wire with your hair by lifting your hair over the sides of the headband.

Now on to how to make a No Headband Headband

Supplies

Let's get started, grab your wire.

Here is a picture of Rose's example if it helps.

Next you are going to want to make loops on the ends.
Grab your round nose/ wire cutter pliers.

Start by getting close, but not to close to the end and pinch the wire with the pliers.

Start turning the wire in a circle motion inwards, towards the wire.

You may need to pinch the ends a little after turning it into a circle. Get the end of the
wires as close as you can to the wire without it overlapping.

Now lets make the ends look even better. Grab your E6000 glue.
Dip the ends of the wire into the glue.

Your end should look similar to this after dipping it in the glue.

Dip the end in the glitter, then with your fingers, form the glue and glitter into a nice ball look.
Repeat with the glue and glitter for the other ends.

Now for my ends I put clothes pins on each end and let them dry this way.

After the ends have dried. Place the wire around your head. This is how you will determine where you want the flower to sit at on your head, in your hair.

If you look at the picture above you will see a pink paper on it.
I use this so I don' loose the spot I want the flower to be in.

Lets glue that flower on! It's time for your hot glue gun...
Take the paper off, after you lay your wire down on the flowers underside.
Hold it in place.

Add some hot Glue.

Put another piece of fabric on top of the glue and wire. And hold for a few seconds. Make sure your wire is going up. You want it standing straight up from the flowers underside.

The No Headband Headband is DONE!

That headband is awesome. My daughter can't wear regular headbands because they are too tight and give her headaches, but I bet she can wear this one! I'm following you back from Crafty In Crosby!

Heather,
Love this tutorial! I hate headbands because they always slip off my head by slowly creeping up until POP! Off they come. My daughter and I will definitely be making some of these. Thanks so much for linking up last week to Creative Thursday. Can’t wait to see what you have for this week’s party! Have a great week.
