Guest Post::Turning your Functional Bathroom In To A Loveable Living Space Ready For Your Christmas Guest
I would like to welcome Helen, she blogs over at... HDBathroomDesigner. She has a wonderful blog about bathrooms and designing. Today she is sharing how to have a wonderful Bathroom for your quest during Christmas.
Bathrooms are and always will be primarily functional spaces;
they exist to serve a purpose. But does this mean that we have to sacrifice
form for function? Absolutely not, and with the festive period just around the
corner, what better time than now to create a friendly inviting bathroom that
you and your Christmas guests can enjoy.
Now we all tend to accumulate far more bathroom
products than we really need, and without sufficient storage space available,
even the largest bathrooms will begin to feel cramped and cluttered. So, to
give yourself a solid foundation upon which to build your new, welcoming
bathroom, some furniture is a must.
A fitted vanity unit will allow you to keep your basin
area clear of clutter whilst keeping all of your daily essentials neatly
organised and within easy reach. As a fitted unit, it will also help to conceal
the plumbing connecting your taps and basin to the water mains, resulting in a
far more streamlined bathroom. Upgrading from your bathroom mirror to a
mirrored cabinet is another great way to add some subtle extra storage capacity
whilst retaining the same functionality as before. An illuminated mirrored
cabinet is the best possible combination, as the additional light source will
not only provide you with a glamorous and easy to use vanity area, but will
also help the room to appear larger.
Another famous way to enhance the feeling of space in
a room is by keeping the walls painted a light colour. White is often the
preferred choice, but when combined with a white bathroom sweet, the results
can be a little cold and sterile. A light pastel shade will retain the same
light- and space-enhancing qualities, but with much more friendly and inviting
results. Similarly, naturally finished wooden furniture, whether light or dark,
will add a real tactile appeal to your decor that will make for a much more
relaxing and enjoyable space.
This time of year, it’s especially important to have a
warm and cosy bathroom, and there are two key methods that will help you
achieve this. A chrome finished heated towel rail, rather than the traditional
radiator, will warm your bathroom, create a stylish focal design point and
ensure that you and your Christmas visitors have access to warm, dry towels
whenever you need them. Underfloor heating is now more affordable and more
effective than ever before, and is the perfect way to get rid of the risk of
frozen toes, whilst creating luxurious ambient warmth.
These are just a few simple changes to help get you
started creating your ideal cozy, Christmas bathroom. There are hundreds more
great tips and ideas available out there, so get clicking and find your favorites!

This is what I did....
Its so simple too. All I did was cut the green ribbon at different lengths and hot glued one end of the ribbon onto the pine cone. Then I made all red bows for each one. They were also hot glued on. I then lined them all up and tied a knot at the top and a red bow and hung it with a pipe cleaner onto our fan.
I have seen pictures of these hanging on doors as a wreath.
The one thing I love about pine cones is that you can have them out during fall through winter. So if you wanted to keep yours up during that time.
This year I hung these over our kitchen sink. (we have a corner sink)
