Duct Tape Rose Tutorial

I have been seeing a lot of things with Duct Tape lately... When I went to WalMart I even saw that they are starting to make it in sheets! Crazy! But I also know they do this contest every year with High Schoolers. They make their prom outfits with Duct Tape. Its Neat.... Just go to You Tube you will find videos on some amazing dresses and tuxes that they have made.

I have seen the flowers made with Duct Tape. The ones I see all the time are with pointed petals. Cute.. But I wanted to try something different. This may already be out there, maybe I just haven't seen it.

You will need a pen, scissors, and some Duct Tape.

Start by cutting 15 strips, I did not measure mine at all. They were maybe about 2 to 3 inches long.

Fold one corner over and leave some sticky showing on the bottom.

Then do the same thing to the other side.

Continue doing this to all your pieces.

Now take your scissors and round the corners. Again, mine were not perfect.

Now you will start adding to your pen.

First cover the cap of your pen with some Duct Tape. You can do it on the end of a non "clicky" pen.

Take your first petal and start wrapping around the cap....

As you wrap pinch a tiny bit of the tape. This will give it a more of a bloom look.

Here is my first petal on.

Now when you start another peice. Start by putting your new piece in the middle of the petal you just finished with.

Continue doing this till you have all the petals on the pen.

Now you have a Flower on your pen.
This is a different one I did, As you can see in the middle I did a few petals a little tight.
Add a little rhinestone in the middle or glitter on the edges of the petals.
Have fun with it!

xoxo

This is so cute! My daughter works at a doctor's office and we always make flower pens for the office with regular flowers, but this idea would be really neat and different to try. Great idea...thanks for sharing. :-)
